KAYA!
Kartagup Djinda Ngardak, in the local Noongar language means “Perth comes alive under the stars” . The week long event was an initiative created by Prepare Produce Provide ( PPP), a non for profit organisation, supporting the future of indigenous youth through food and education projects. This was a special event, that brought together 13 schools across WA and NT.
A big thank you to Cyril Jackson Senior Campus and Cath MacDougall (CJ Hospitality Teacher) for hosting the first “KDN gathering” on Monday 20th November. The objective of the gathering was to create a painting that reflects all the language groups coming together, to share their stories and knowledge on foods from their local areas. Well known Richard Walley was in attendance, as well as well known Indigenous chef Clayton and other supporting staff and WA chefs.
A great time was had by all!
